How long can a stallion be inactive before their claim on a land can be challanged by another stallion?

Ummm...
Well another stallion can challenge any current lead as long as they are old enough. It doesn't matter if the lead is active or inactive.
So- Though if a lead is inactive, and three RL days pass, the challenger becomes the new herd leader and chooses how to run the herd, what to do with foals, and what to do with mares.
But if the lead Is active, there will be a fight.
Did that answer everything?

*sighs* Yea. Another one for you tho: If no one challanges, and the Lead stallion becomes inactive, does the lead Mare take lead over the herd?

Yep, then you can alway get a dissolved pairing, though let's use a example.
Okay: Nakota and her mate.
I think her mate isn't active correct? Okay so, you would get a dissolved pairing, and after a day went by without a objection, Nakota would be single. Then she would rule the herd alone, and choose another stallion to be by her side. Though her old mate would be out of the herd due to the dissolved pairing and being inactive.
Makes sense?
